Question

Importing QB to TurboTax

I am getting an error while trying to import QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus to Turbo Tax Business (for 2022). It comes up with  "We're unable to import your information. Let's try again."

I have QB Desktop Pro Plus 2021 which should be compatible.

I have checked my preferences to ensure that 'integrated applications' is allowing TurboTax to access my QB file.

I even shut off Firewalls and tried to import.  The same message keeps popping up.

Please help!

thank you Christine

    Hey there, @CSC32.

Thanks for sharing the steps that you've taken to address the issue. I've got the steps we can use to

It's possible that the "Don't allow any applications to access this company file." was checked. This can be the reason why you keep getting this error message.

Let's make sure to uncheck this box to remove the error and successfully import your files. Here's how:

    1. In Quickbooks, go to Edit.
    2. Select Preferences, then Integrated Applications.
    3. Click on the Company Preferences tab and verify that the box is unchecked in front of Don't allow any applications to access this company file.
    4. Select OK.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see different related information about exporting a file to TurboTax Business and how it works: How do I import QuickBooks data into TurboTax Business?.

Reach out to me if you have any other concerns or questions about exporting your data. Please know I'm just a comment away. Have a great day ahead.

I did make sure that ‘don’t allow any applications to access this file’ was unchecked and I am still receiving the message.

I am having the same issue

    Tried everything mentioned.

Screen to enter admin password is frozen

Screen to open QB by selecting file is frozen behind

I have already checked the box to allow access even when file is closed

Have tried with file open and closed.

    Hello, ACB2.

I appreciate your time in doing the steps given by my colleagues above. I have some steps we can do to fix the freezing issue when importing your data to TurboTax.

Since you mentioned that the screen to open QuickBooks is frozen, then this is likely an issue within the program. Let's narrow this down by fixing the issue on QuickBooks' side.

We'll want to run the Tool Hub utility to diagnose and fix freezing or crashing issues. Here's how to run it:

    1. Download the latest version of the Tool Hub here: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
    2. Run and install the Tool Hub.
    3. After installing, open it, then run the Program Problems utility.
    4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Some other solutions are also listed here: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

If you're still getting the same issue, we'll want to contact our support (QuickBooks). One of the agents can take a look at the program and fix the freezing or crashing problem.

You can contact our support in and out of the program. The steps and details to reach them can be found here: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support
