Importing Time Entries into QBO

For QBO not Desktop

We have been using a 3rd party app called Dancing Numbers. It worked great.  In the last month, it stopped working.

QuickBooks support says it is Dancing Numbers and Dancing Numbers says it is QBO. Honestly, I believe it is QBO.

Here is what we need:

1) Import time for contractors/employees using an Excel spreadsheet or .CSV

2) The time needs to appear in the "Time Entries" of QBO.

Thanks

I understand the need of importing time entries to QuickBooks Online, markg. Let me share some steps to get your issue fixed.

Before importing your timesheet data into QuickBooks Online (QBO), it’s crucial to verify the accuracy and completeness of each column in your timesheet. This step helps prevent errors and ensures smooth integration. Check each column in your timesheet to make sure there's a clear and accurate header that matches the corresponding fields in QBO.

If the issue persists after importing, let's perform troubleshooting steps to sort it out. It's possible QuickBooks may behave unexpectedly due to data issues in your browser. To verify this, try using an incognito or private browser. To open an incognito window, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

If this works, return to your regular browser and ensure to clear your cache to start afresh. If you continue to experience the same result, I suggest using other supported browsers. This will help us identify if the issue is specific to your current browser.

However, if the above steps don't work, I recommend contacting our customer support team again to internally check your account and investigate this issue further.

Here's how:

1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.

2. Select Help (?).

3. Select either of these tabs:

  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

It's always a pleasure to assist you, markg. You can always come back to this post if you have additional questions about importing time sheets or other related tasks. I'll be sure to be around to offer support and guide you throughout the process. Have a great rest of the week!

Thanks for the reply.  Your customer support team has been no help, they say it is not QBO.  Classic pointingthe finger and they have been no help.

We will try these steps.

@markg-smart2market

Try opening your QBO account in private/incognito browser. If the same error persists, use another importer tool to isolate the problem.
