Question

In QB time, I'm getting an error says that use use the employees hours they need to be an employee in QB payroll. The employee is already in the system. What am I missing

We are thinking about using QB Time instead of the weekly timesheet. However, I'm getting errors in Time. Even though the employee is already set up, I click create employee (cause there's no other option), then that leads to it saying it can't add time for this person. It says refresh or try again later. It never resolves. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Welcome back to the Community, @WKidd. Let's do some troubleshooting.

Before we start troubleshooting, it's important to make sure that the employee setup is correct. Please double-check that it's not set up as a contractor. If everything checks out, we can proceed with the troubleshooting steps to fix this unusual behavior of the program.

To begin, start by opening an incognito or private browser window. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts for the supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once you have opened the browser window, log in to your QuickBooks account and try to add time to your employees. If it's successful, proceed to clear your browser's cache. This process will remove and fix specific issues and help the program run optimally. Additionally, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.

Additionally, you can refer to this article on managing your team members: Add and Manage Team Members for QuickBooks Time.
