Question

In quickbooks online, we processed an employee check with the address in GA that he had before his divorce. Now it says we need to pay GA withholding. Fix?

Glad to have you here, ron113.

I'll be glad to share insights on why you need to pay GA withholdings in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online is dependent on the address associated with the employee's profile. That could be the reason you have a due for GA withholdings. You may consider editing the employee's profile instead. Before doing the process, I suggest consulting with your accountant on how to properly account for this to make sure your books are accurate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then Employees.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Select Edit ✎ on the section you want to update.
  4. Edit their info and select Done.

Furthermore, if you still have the option to delete/void the paycheck, you may do so. If not, I suggest reaching out to our Payroll Support team. This way, one of our agents will assist you in correcting your payroll.

Feel free to post again if you have additional payroll concerns. I'll be around to help.
