Is anyone else having trouble with paychecks going through on time? August/September 2021

There are a few reasons employees having trouble with paychecks going through on time, @patientpawsvet.

 

As of August, there are no relevant issues about the online payroll direct deposit delay.

 

The delay happens when:

  • An employee's bank account information was entered incorrectly.
  • There's a problem with the employee's bank.
  • The pay date falls on a weekend or holiday.
  • The direct deposit payroll was submitted after the cutoff time which is 5 PM Pacific Standard Time. When this happens, the payroll will be processed on the next banking day.

 

The good news is if your scenario falls on the last two reasons, we expect all affected deposits to be processed and in your employees' accounts by the end of the payment date.

 

However, if it falls on the first two reasons, then the funds will be rejected and returned to the employer's account. This process will take 2-3 business days after the pay date. If the employee still did not receive the funds by 5 PM after the settlement date, you can contact us so we can do a direct deposit trace.

 

On the other hand, we have identified an issue on Friday, September 17, that prevented direct deposits from being processed as normal. The employees impacted should receive their paychecks in their bank account by the end of the day. If the funds aren't in the employee account yet, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support team and reference alert ATTN-8822. Here's how to reach them:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Help on the upper right.
  3. Click the Search tab and then select Contact us.
  4. Enter your concern details and then hit Continue/Let's talk.
  5. Choose to Start a chat or Get a callback.
