Let me provide you some information about the mileage rates, dapperstachethea.

The Standard mileage increase rate that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently announced for the final six months of 2022 will automatically be adjusted in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). You'll just have to wait for these rates to be updated. If you want to add trips manually, you can follow the steps below on how to do it:

  1. Select Miles.
  2. Edit the Date.
  3. (Optional) Add a start and end address.
  4. Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
  5. Add a Trip purpose note.
  6. When you're done, select Save.

For more details on how to categorize your trips, read this article for more information: Automatically Track Mileage In QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Furthermore, if this is your first time that you're filing your self-employed taxes this lets you think what exactly is a tax deduction. To know more about this, go through this blog for more details: The Ultimate Guide To Tax Deductions For The Self-Employed.
