Question

Is the Mileage option broken after update? Personal check-box gone from add trip and cannot view multiple days on ALL option within year or month. Please fix and update.

I was entering my mileage into quickbooks and found that I could no longer check the Personal option within the Add Trip window. This option was moved/taken out. Why? This was faster and more efficient than what it is now. aka Personal option gone! Furthermore, the ability to check the entries of locations already entered is limited to just one page! Again. Why? The ability to go forward and backwards through the dates/locations already entered has been taken away also! Again. Why? This was one of the main reasons that I choose quickbooks. It made mine and my accountant's lives easier because it was one less program to pay for and deal with. Before, some update went through, both of these options were present. What happened??? I know that I am not the only one that has noticed this but I might be the only one who has complained about this. Please fix this. I do not want to relearn another program/system just to fix a simple dev issue. Thanks

Sometimes, missing options can be caused by a corrupted file cache on your browser. We can perform some troubleshooting steps to rule this out. Let's begin by opening an incognito or private browser. This mode prevents your browsing history from being stored.

 

You can use these keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Next, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account and go to Mileage. Check to see if you have the option to select Personal. If it's available, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Finally, make sure to close and re-open your browser afterwards.

 

Alternatively, try using a different supported browser.

Thanks for the reply!

 

Just tried the incognito mode on Vivaldi and the problem still exists! I even tried Microsoft Edge, which I never use, and the problem still is there! Also, cleared all of the cookies and reopened the browser. And yup, the problem is still there.

 

This problem is on the dev side and needs to be fixed/added back in. I don't know why a feature like is would be written out of the code??? Maybe it was a mistake?

 

Furthermore, Yes, I have tried the Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online. It worked, horribly. I had to resort to entering the mileage by hand to make sure it was accurate.

 

Hopefully this mistake can be fixed soon?

I can provide a different way to mark your trip as personal in QuickBooks, cwdsllc2018.

 

I appreciate all the efforts you've taken so far to troubleshoot the missing option on your mileage page. This is not the experience I wish you to come across when using our product. Don't worry, I'll make sure that the trip will tag as Personal in your QuickBooks Online account.  

 

You can temporarily add the trip as a Business and change the type to Personal after. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Select the Mileage button on the left side. 
  2. Add the trip as Business and click Save. 
  3. Click Business and check the mileage you previously created. 
  4. Pick the personal logo and choose Apply.
