Question

Is there a new way that child support garnishments have to be made? I have had a employees garnishment set up for years and now it won't let me add the garnishment

Welcome to the Community space, maxhall0.

I am here to share some information about adding garnishments to your employees in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, QuickBooks Online only allows two garnishments for each employee. This limitation may be the cause why you can't add the child support garnishment of your employee.

In case you want to add more garnishment, I suggest reaching out to our payroll customer support team. They have the tools to assist you in adding more than two garnishments in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then click Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Moreover, you can run payroll reports to access detailed information on your employees' wages, deductions, and taxes.

Come back to this post if you have other additional questions about adding garnishments in QuickBooks Online. I'll be here to lend a hand.
