Is there a per paycheck cost for direct deposit payroll checks?

I was told that it costs $1.25 per paycheck for direct deposit.  I saw online that direct deposit is free.  Is there a coast associated with direct deposit or not?

I'd be happy to inform you that there's no extra charge for Direct Deposit if you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll. The information provided to you about a $1.25 per paycheck fee might have been for QuickBooks Desktop users.

    I spoke to QB customer services who explained that there is a monthly charge for the payroll service plus $1.50 for each "active employee".  You can run payroll as many times as you want and there is no extra charge!!!

      Hi is there a fee for direct deposits for contractor. I got one person saying $4.00 and another one say $10.00 per contactor?

      When you process Direct Deposit (DD) for a contractor, it will only cost $2.00 a month. If you don't make a DD payment to a contractor for a specific month, you'll not be charged.

      hi - based on the thread, your saying that there is a monthly fee of $2/contractor leveraging DD regardless of number of payments within a month, correct? Can you advise as to what the $4 charge when adding DD for a contractor? Is this $4 recurring or one-time fee? I have incurred this $4 charge for each contractor but cant determine what the fee relates to for DD and if it is recurring...
