Is there a way for employees to choose “select pay item” on their own timesheets?

Right now, only administrators seem to have access to this question, but it is also the only way we can get our payroll worker's comp taxes to work correctly. So, an administrator has to go through every payroll period and select the "select pay item" for everyone.

Your employee or time-tracking user can view time reports and access timesheets. However, they’re unable to select the pay item on their own. This means that they can only record their own time activities on the sheet.

 

As you’ve mentioned, only the administrator have this access. Thus, the pay section and any accompanying reports can only be seen and changed by them.

 

You’ll want to read about setting up timesheets in QuickBooks Online for more details on tracking and managing your employee timesheets. Also, it'll walk you through how to approve their worked hours so their total pay hours are automatically calculated.
