Question

Is there an additional payment if we rerun our payroll? We run it last May 7th and now we're planning to process for some additional payments. Thank you!

Let me share some information about the payroll terms when running your payroll in QuickBooks Online (QBO), elle-wilcox.

QBO Payroll terms for each employee (active or on paid leave) is an additional $6/month for Core, $8/month for Premium, and $10/month for Elite. For more details about the Payroll plan and pricing, you can visit our website: Bundle payroll and bookkeeping.

To run payroll or process your employee's paychecks , just follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Workers on the left menu and click the Employees tab.
  2. Tap Run payroll and select the pay schedule for the payroll you want to create.
  3. Select or review the Pay period and Pay date.
  4. Choose the employees you'd like to pay.
  5. Click the column, or select Actions ⋮, then Edit paycheck to enter your pay details. You can enter hours, compensation, memos, or any other necessary paycheck info.  If you use QuickBooks Time select Review Approved Time.

For more details about creating your payroll, check out this article: Create and run your payroll. Also, we can access the Paycheck History to review the paycheck status. Just go to the Reports tab and type the said report. Then, customize it to show specific data. Here's what the status means:

  • Scheduled - ready to send the checks to the bank and pay the employees.
  • Processed - already sent this employee’s paycheck info to the bank and aren’t able to make any more changes.
  • Returned - There's something wrong with the employee's bank information.
  • Canceled: Direct Deposit was not included in this paycheck.
  • Paper Check: No status is listed because Direct Deposit is not included.
