Question

Is there any tickets submitted to fix the issue with quickbooks overriding the current date on all new transactions with the last date entered

If you are entering a receipt with a different date than the current date, the system overrides the current date on all new transactions which is causing hardship on accurate reporting

Do you mean that you change the date to some other date and then when you record the transaction QuickBooks keeps that date going forward?

If so, perhaps there's a preference for that behavior like QB Desktop has. Using desktop, you can set QB to always revert back to today with each new transaction, which is the default.

Hi, actionglass.

When you create a transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO) with a different date other than the current date, the system will use this information when creating a new one. As a workaround, you need to change the date to the current date manually.

We'd love to hear your input. I recommend leaving feedback to notify our engineers about the feature you need. This way, they can consider adding it in future updates.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. In QBO, select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

I'm also adding this article about the auto-recall feature and how it works for future reference: How to use auto-recall to pre-fill transactions.

Please leave a comment below if you have more questions about this or anything else. I'm always here to assist. Stay safe.

There's no way to set a preference in QuickBooks Online so that each new transaction defaults to today? If not, I'd think it should do that instead of what the OP describes!
