Question

Just switched to qbo and set up payroll . It's saying there is a $6 overdue balance on taxes. I can't find where they come up with this. How do I fix it?

The overdue tax notifications can be annoying since you've already paid. I can show you how to get rid of this alert, tricia-f-pc-org.

You can record the amount as a historical tax payment so the notification will be removed. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Taxes tab in the left navigation menu.
  2.  Go to the Payroll Tax Center.
  3. Select Enter prior tax history
  4. Click Add Payment.
  5. Choose the Tax TypeLiability PeriodPayment DateNotes, and Amount.
  6. Press OK.

To learn more about entering your prior payroll history, as well as any tax payments you paid outside the payroll system, check out this article: Recording prior tax payments.

If you want to make a late federal tax payment, you can find the instructions here: Paying late federal taxes. For more information about paying taxes in QuickBooks Online, please feel free to read this link: Pay payroll taxes electronically or manually
