I can offer guidance and support in setting the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate for exemption within QuickBooks Online Payroll, iikarynii.

You can input the precise rate you've received as per the documents required by your agency.

Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Payroll Settings.
  3. On the state tax section, select Edit.
  4. Select Change or add a new rate.
  5. Enter the rate and the effective date.
  6. Click OK.

Since you mentioned that QuickBooks Online Payroll doesn't permit you to input or update the Maryland SUI rate, I suggest contacting the Payroll Team to verify that your SUI tax rate is configured correctly.

See the steps below:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click on Help (?).
  3. Select the Search tab, then Contact Us.
  4. Enter a description of your concern, then hit Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect: Get a callback from the next available support.

In the same manner, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can update your state unemployment rate: Update your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate.

On top of that, I've also included this reference for the compilation of the latest tax updates mandated by your agency:    Payroll Tax Compliance Links.
