Moving online payroll transactions into the desktop version

I switched back from using QB Online back to the desktop version but learned (or was told) that I can't bring the payroll and payroll taxes transactions, or any transactions, done in the online version back into the desktop version.  I have been passed around through their customer service people all day on this and still no answer.  I can download the transactions into Excel files and just need to know if there is a way in import, or by some other means, bring them into the desktop version?  I'm trying to avoid having to manually post all of the transactions.  Thanks

I'm here to ensure you're able to import your payroll data into QuickBooks, @JALAN1.

Before proceeding, let's set your export preference in QuickBooks Online Payroll. I'll show you how.

    1. Click the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.

    2. In the Export section, click the Pencil icon on the right.

    3. On the Export preferences page, choose QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

    4. Select Continue in the lower-right corner.

    5. Review the assigned accounts and click Done.

Then, we can now generate an IIF file for your payroll data.

    1. Choose Payroll tax on the left-hand menu.

    2. Select the Tax payment history report under Tax resources.

    3. Filter the date for the tax payments you want to export.

    4. Put a checkmark in the box for one or more payments to export.

    5. Click on Export to Accounting.

After that, it'll send the file to your Downloads folder. Once you locate the data, you can start importing them into QuickBooks.

    1. Click the Gear icon and then click on Payroll settings.

    2. Go to the Export transactions tab.

    3. A screen will appear letting you know how many transactions and of which type are being exported. You may need to allow popups if you're using the QuickBooks Desktop for Windows option.

    4. Click on Export.

You can also individually export your payroll transactions. To learn how, please see this article: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.

I'm also adding this link as a guide when moving paychecks to QuickBooks Desktop: Export Intuit Online Payroll transactions to QuickBooks for Windows or Mac (IIF).

Please keep us posted on your progress in moving your payroll data, @JALAN1. It's our priority to ensure you're able to complete the task.
