Question

My 2021 940 is done but will not drop off my Task list. Any suggestions?

Clicking "pay now," despite it being paid already, says that quickbooks has determined that you do not owe any taxes at this time.

Hello and welcome to the QuickBooks Community, hatplaysbass.

I'd like to share some steps to help you with the tax reminders.

If the 940 payment is processed through E-Pay, then we can perform some troubleshooting steps to rule out any browser-related issues. Unusual behaviors like this might be caused by a corrupted file cache stored in your browser.

Let's open an incognito or private browser. When using this mode, your browsing history, search history, and cookies are not saved, which helps identify any browser-related problems.

Here are the keyboard shortcut:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Next, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account then go the Dashboard tab, and check your Task list. If you don't see the tax notification for the 940, we can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. It is always a good idea to clear them because it helps your applications run better on your computer. Finally, please be sure to close the browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies.

In addition, you can use a different supported browser.

I'm also adding these article to help you manage the tax payments and form filings:

Please keep me updated on what happens after trying out the steps above. I'm here to assist you again. Take care and have a good day ahead.
