Hi, CSL53.

I'm here to fix why your pastor's wages are divided into two accounts.

With QuickBooks Online, you'll have the option to track employees' wages to different accounts. This might be the reason why the wages are divided into two general ledger accounts.

To fix it, you may create a journal entry to post the other amount to the correct account. With that, I suggest reaching out to your accountant so they can guide you in choosing the accounts.

Moving forward, you can track your pastor's wages in one expense account. Here's how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Payroll settings.
  2. Go to the Accounting section.
  3. Click the edit (pencil) on the Wage expenses section.
  4. Select either All my employee's wages are posted to one expense account or Each employee's wages are posted to their own expense account.
  5. Click Save, then Done.
