Thank you for posting here in the Community, @john388.

Let me further assist you in fixing this issue with your payroll cost not applying to the projects.

The first thing we can do is to ensure that those timesheets used when running payroll are the same timesheets linked to your employees and projects.

If the problem persists, log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser. There are times when the browser you're using has data issues, thus causing QuickBooks to act weirdly. To do so, press this shortcut key on your keyboard:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If this works, you must clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I suggest switching to a different supported browser.

To manage projects in QBO, I'll add this guide for your reference: Create and manage projects in QuickBooks Online.

For more information, I'll add this resource again to help you use projects to track your labor costs and profitability: Track hourly labor costs and profitability by project in QuickBooks Online.

You can always reply or reach out to us again if you need anything else. We're always here to guide and assist you whenever you need help. Take care always.
