Question

My phone stopped tracking mileage in August. Unfortunately I didn't catch it until today. I cannot get it to start tracking again. How do I fix it?

I have tried force stopping the app and re-opening,  I have turned off and back on all the tracking settings, etc.

Welcome to the Community space, @userrachel1. We'll share details to help you fix the QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app to get the mileage tracker working.

Please be aware that there are different reasons for applications to malfunction. It can be due to the data accumulated from previous trips or your mobile phone's current processing power. We can clear the app's existing data to rule out the possibility of being in this situation. We'll input a set of steps below to get you started.

If you're using an Android device, here's how:

  1. Ensure the device is connected to a WIFI or internet.
  2. Go to your phone's settings.
  3. Choose QuickBooks app from the list, then select Storage.
  4. Select Clear data.

In case you're using iOS or iPad, here's how:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Setting General iPhone Storage and choose the QBO app.
  3. Choose Offload App. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

If the issue persists, you can uninstall and then reinstall the app. Ensure to install the latest version to take advantage of the updates. We also suggest checking this article to see available troubleshooting methods: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
