I added additional lump sum to the payroll for the owners for the simple IRA, I ran several payrolls and deleted them to get the numbers I needed, not sure if this affected the 941 tax that is due

Thanks for bringing this up to the Community space, @drkerr. Let me share some information about the payroll summary report and scheduled 941 tax payments in QuickBooks Online.

In QBO, payroll reports like Payroll Summary are generated based on the check date and not on the pay period. With this, I recommend checking its date since it might be the reason why your 941-tax payment is more than the amount generated in the report.

However, if the date is correct and the tax payment is still the same, you can contact our Payroll Support to help you further. They have the right tools to pull up your account in a secure manner and isolate the cause of the issue. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click Help (?).
  3. Select the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  4. Choose the topic or click Ask about something else.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern, then click Continue.
  6. Select the Have us call you button. You can also set a Scheduled appointment that fits your schedule.

On the other hand, 941 tax payments will be automatically calculated based on the records present in QuickBooks. Thus, changes made in QuickBooks might affect the 941 tax that is due.

Furthermore, I'm sharing this article to view some payroll reports to see information about your business, employees, and payroll taxes: Run payroll reports.

Also, you can set up or change your payroll tax filing or payment schedules if the IRS or your state agency sends you a new filing form or tax deposit schedule to update your payroll product and pay your taxes on time.

Let me know if you have other questions about your scheduled 941 tax payment or have other QuickBooks-related inquiries and concerns. I'm willing to lend you a hand and share my knowledge with the program. Have a nice day ahead!
