Hello there, lizm. Let me share some steps to enable the tax button in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To see the tax button on the Menu page, you can customize your Menu to have this option. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. To edit, you can click the pencil icon ✎  beside the Menu.
  3. Select the Menu tab, and check the box for Taxes.
  4. Click Save.

If the issue persists, we can check if it's related to your browser. We can start by opening a private browsing window as it ignores previous browsing history. These are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If you can see the tax button after performing troubleshooting steps, it's safe to say that it's being caused by your browser. Then, let's clear your regular browser's cache.

Furthermore, you can check out this article to learn how to track your payment due dates in one place to avoid late returns and extra fees: File your sales tax return and record sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online.
