Hello there, Diana.

I'm here to provide you with information about the integration of North Carolina's new unemployment tax system (NCSUITS) in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We make sure that the payroll service follows all federal and state regulations. As soon as North Carolina's new unemployment tax system (NCSUITS) is available, it will be added to QBO.

We are unable to provide a specific timeline for the implementation at this moment. To stay updated on any developments, we recommend bookmarking this article for future reference: Compliance Blog: Information on new taxes, state rate issues, and more!

In addition, this article provides additional information on tax forms, withholdings, unemployment, and other tax, e-file, and pay-related topics:

Any updates on the QB Desktop for this?  I am using QB Pro Plus 2021 with enhanced payroll.

Editing the old excel document that QB offers to fit the new NCSUITS CSV file is a nightmare and confusing.  Hoping to get an update before I had to do this in January!

Hello there, @kjt0619.

I've got some information about North Carolina's new unemployment tax system (NCSUITS).

As provided by my colleague, MariaSoledadG, Intuit has been notified about this update, and it will be integrated into QuickBooks Online (QBO) as soon as it becomes available. Although we don't have a specific timeframe for implementing this, we will keep you informed and provide updates as necessary.

Our engineers are already aware of the notification you received and are working on it, so there's no need to send it to us for now.

If you wish to find more information on the latest payroll update (22401) and earlier releases, you can read this article: Get the latest payroll news and updates in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

I'll be around if you need further assistance or have other taxes and payroll concerns. I'm eager to help you seamlessly run your business. Keep safe always.

I need to know in the next few days are the NC new unemployment tax systems-NC Suits going to incorporated into the payroll tax updates for QuickBooks Desktop 2023 and, if so, what date we can expect these updates by?  Thank you very much for your help with this issue.

Dear Quickbooks Team:

We appreciate that you are finally acknowledging and undertaking to correct this situation.  This however does not even begin to mitigate the far-reaching effects of this issue.

I and many others have been not only disappointed but astounded at Intuit’s lack of concern for customers.  I personally found it downright insulting the extent to which my time (and much of it!) was patently abused in contacting Support (or lack thereof) on this issue and one other as well.  That your, what you call a ‘Team’, can be so clueless in every way and yet waste everybody’s time in trying to pretend they are actually doing something is amazing.  Truly, your customers are not stupid!  In addition:  It is very difficult to understand the broken English and as difficult to follow the conversation with someone who does not understand how to use the language properly.

Given that you people continue to force us (yes, FORCE) into more and more expensive products, one might realistically expect a corresponding value in the quality of the product/service offered, including a real Support team that is both intent and able to resolve issues.

As a Corporation I might say, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

I understand how updates are relevant when managing New Carolina's new unemployment tax system, Marschall.

As QuickBooks ensures that payroll services follow all federal and state regulations, updates on the NC's new unemployment tax system will be added to the online program as soon as it is available. Although we don't have an exact time frame for when this will materialize in QuickBooks, rest assured you'll receive an update.

We'll provide up-to-date information on this thread once NC's new unemployment tax system is available.

In addition to that, I'm including this reference to learn about the latest payroll update and recent release: Get the latest payroll news and updates in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

Furthermore, you can check this material for guidance to help you download the latest tax table: Get the latest tax table update in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

I'll keep an eye on this forum for any additional queries when managing taxes on your file. Feel free to post them in the comments below, so I can get you covered. Stay safe!

Are there any updates on being able to efile/epay for NC in QB desktop? How do I enroll NC in QB? Or will it automatically appear under payroll setup?

April 19, 2024

I'm with everybody else, Intuit has seriously dropped the ball on this issue and lead many of us on a time wasting wild goose chase with their misinformation and blatant lies.  It's a shame that the most widely used accounting software vendor has so little respect for those of us who they are dragging along into more and more expensive (so called) solutions, like it or not.  If Sage would do some aggressive marketing and pick up a greater market share to become so widely used, I would switch in a heartbeat.  Of course, I guess that doesn't guarantee a higher level customer service.

That being said, I actually was able to file NCUI by uploading the QB generated file for Q1 2024. That still doesn't excuse Intuit's mishandling of it.

Thank you for your response.  Just to confirm that this week you were able to create the file that uploaded to NC Suits because I have not tried it as of yet.  Too busy with tax returns to deal with this issue yet.  Thank you for your help!

April 19, 2024

I actually did it last week.  Just follow the steps to get the .txt file and upload that.  Went OK.  A tip:  In the NCSuits site when it says it has accepted your info, the report may not show up right away, so come back later and check it.  The first couple I did showed up pretty quickly so when the next one didn't I kept uploading it again thinking something had gone wrong.  It never told me it had been done.  Went back a few hours later and there it was.

Good luck
