Thanks for posting in the Community. I can help you get around the issue with your new employee starting date, prgs57772-gmail-.

If you created a paycheck for the new hire employee and still QuickBooks created a tow week payment amount 9not following the starting date), then we have to override the hours worked to adjust their salary. When an employee isn't being paid for the entire pay period, we'll need to calculate their hours worked manually. To fix it, delete and recreate the paycheck. Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Choose Paycheck list.
  3. Select the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete or void, then select Delete or Void.
  4. Press Yes.

To know more about what you can and can't edit on a paycheck, you may check out this article: Change an Employee Paycheck.

Once done, follow these instructions in recreating the paycheck:

  1. Go to the Workers or Payroll menu.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Click the Run Payroll button.
  4. Choose the pay schedule of the employee, then tap Continue.
  5. Check the box to the left of the employee.
  6. Under the Salary column, select the hyperlinked dollar amount.
  7. Select the Adjust salary this time only option.
  8. Enter the hours of unpaid time off.
  9. Press Apply and continue the payroll process.

Attached is a reference that you can check out for more information about this process: Enter unpaid hours for salaried employees. Additionally, we can generate a new hire report in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you are unable to delete or void, you'll see a message explaining why. Please contact us to connect to a payroll expert to void the paycheck.
