Question

Not Billable

When I run a yearly Billed/Unbilled Hours by Person report I get mostly Not Billed hours. However, we did bill for these hours. Why is it showing up this way? This makes no sense and really interferes with determinations as to raises, etc.

Thanks for reaching out to us, @JP41.

I'll help get the Billed/Unbilled Hours by Person report working. To confirm, did you customized this report? If so, you'll want to check the filters to make sure you've selected the Any radio-button. Let me guide you how.

  1. In the report, click the Customized Report button at the top.
  2. Go to the Filters tab.
  3. Tick Any. See the image below.
  4. Click OK.

Additionally, if you're looking to see your employee's billed or unbilled hours, you can pull up the Time Detail report in Excel. This will bring up your employee's detailed billable or not billable hours, rate, estimated pay, customer: job, and date.

Here's how to get there:

  1. Go to Reports, then choose Employees & Payroll.
  2. Select More Payroll Reports in Excel.
  3. Click Employee Time & Costs.
  4. This will open an Excel Spreadsheets, follow the steps that'll guide you through the rest.

Here's how it looks like:

From there, you can filter to view list of persons (employees) Billable and Not Billable hours.
