Oregon Family Leave withholding from percent is incorrect

I understand how important it is to have the correct rate for your employees' paid leave since it allows you to support them when they need it the most. We're aware that Oregon (OR) has implemented paid family medical leave called Paid Leave Oregon. I'll walk you through the process of updating their rate in QuickBooks Desktop.

The new OR paid family leave is now part of the recent tax table updates released last December 15, 2022. To start tracking them, please ensure you have the latest Payroll updates. 

Here's how:

1. Go to the Employees menu
2. Select Get Payroll Updates.
3. Choose the Download Entire Update checkbox, then click on Update.
4. Once done, a window appears when the download is complete.

Then, you can follow the steps below to adjust the contribution rate.

1. Go to Employees, then Employee Center.
2. Double-click your employee.
3. Select Payroll Info, then click the Taxes button.
4. Go to the Other tab.
5. Click the OR - Paid Fam Med Leave Co. In Co. Portion Rate, enter your business rate (no decimals). Example: 40.
6. Select OR - Paid Fam Med Leave Emp. In Emp. Portion Rate, enter your employee rate (no decimals). Example: 60.
7. Hit OK twice.
8. Repeat steps 2 - 7 for each covered employee.

After that, you can add your Paid Leave Oregon number. I'll show you how.

1. Go to Lists, then select Payroll Item List.
2. Double-click the OR - Paid Fam Med Leave Co item.
3. Click Next until you get to the Agency for company-paid liability screen.
4. Enter your Oregon Business Identification Number (BIN).
5. Select Next.
6. Verify your rate.
7. Select Next, then hit Finish.
8. Repeat steps 2 - 7 for the OR - Paid Fam Med Leave Emp. item.
