We provide SaaS solutions to our customers, where we provide our customers to export IIF file containing details about the

Employee, Date of Service, Service Name (Parent Item), Service Detail, Duration of service, Project, Billing Status.

While importing we are getting few errors :

1.[ERROR] The specified Item is not present in QuickBooks or is not Service Type Item [15182]

2.[ERROR] [North Bay Regional Center] The Customer's parent already exists in Quickbooks as another entity [10144]

3.Invalid Customer Name [11706]

Can you please help me how to debug this issue.

Let me provide troubleshooting steps to ensure you can import your IIF file data without errors and achieve your goal smoothly, Harish0412.

This happens when there are errors or typographical errors in your IIF imported file most specifically on the customer name. It could be also the customer's parent already exists in the program and the items imported are not found in QuickBooks.

To import the IIF file successfully, we'll need to double-check the names used, the spelling, and any other typographical errors. You must ensure that the names and items used exist and are acceptable in QuickBooks. Once done, checking the file, try importing it again.

If you are trying to import files in QuickBooks Desktop, the software provides you the option to review and resolve the errors found in the file. We can correct errors and import the corrected .IIF file. Here's how:

  1. Select Review now.
  2. Look for ERROR to see what the problem(s) with the file is.
  3. Correct the errors and Save.
  4. If asked if you want to keep the file type, select Yes.
  5. Close the File not imported window.
  6. Import the new, corrected .IIF file.

Intuit doesn't offer assisted technical support for creating or importing.IIF files. You can check out these articles for more details about importing and exporting Intuit Interchange Format (IIF) files:

For QuickBooks Online (QBO), we need to convert the IIF files to a supported format before we can import them. There are plenty of file converters that you can search online. Alternatively, we can use a third-party importer tool that can directly import IFF into the program. We can go to our QuickBooks App Market or select the Apps menu within your QBO account.
