My employees have not received their direct deposit yet also.

I just spoke with Full Service Payroll support.  Becasue of the Veterans holiday yesterday the banks were closed, this has delayed the processing of paychecks today.  The paychecks will process and post to employee accounts later today.

I talked with QB Onilne Help. Since I did the payroll on a Holiday, which is after the cut-off time, Direct Deposit Payroll will land in the employee's accounts at 5pm, Pacific Time today, Friday, 11/12/2021. I hope this helps everyone.

Good morning, @MG1289,

You are correct on this.  Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this! The impact is due to the payroll being processed after 5 PM on 10/11, followed by a US Bank holiday, causing a delay in payroll processing.  We look forward to providing you with an update and getting this worked out for all of our customers. Thank you again for your continued patience.

Thank you for responding Jessica. I just spoke to a Payroll support rep. that said our employees may not see the funds till Monday. We submitted yesterday before 5pm. In QuickBooks our employee direct deposits are showing as "Scheduled" status. If I hoover over the "Scheduled" status (see attached screen print)  it says "We have everything we need to send this check to the bank and pay this employee on 11/12/21. Need to make changes? Select the net pay amount before 11/12/21 at 7AM PT to modify or delete the check."

Will you please let me know if our employees confirm that our employees will be receiving their direct deposits by end of day today as it states in QuickBooks?

I just spoke to Deena, Full Service Payroll rep, She actually looked at our settlement date and said our employees will receive their direct deposits today.

Hey there, @dknudsen.

Yes, I can confirm these deposits are merely delayed, and your employees will see thier paychecks deposited by 5pm PST.  Let me know if you have any further questions and have a wonderful weekend!

So my question is WHY didn't Intuit send out a message early in the week stating that everyone should move up their processing day up one day?  Other payroll systems I have used always notified us of these types of situations so what is happening now, of everyone's Direct Deposits not showing up, wouldn't happen.  It is part of the service we pay for in using their product.

I know that this hasn't been easy for you, BrentH.

I understand how important for you to pay your employees on time. Weekends and federal holidays are observed to be non-banking days. We sent out an email reminder as well as an in-product messaging regarding the bank holidays. I encourage you to make sure Intuit emails are not going to the spam folder and check the product notifications.

If you'd like to pay them today, you can delete the direct deposit checks that you already ran. Then rerun payroll as a physical check to print and give to the employees in person. However, this is only applicable if the payroll is not yet in processing with the bank. I'll be happy to walk you through the steps.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu on the left panel to select Employees.
  2. Click the Paycheck list link under Run Payroll.
  3. Select the direct deposit check for each employee.
  4. If the option to 'DELETE' the direct deposit check appears at the bottom, you can select it to stop processing the transaction before the bank begins sending the funds.

If you don't see the delete option, the check is already in processing with the bank and cannot be stopped/deleted.

For future reference, I've included this helpful resource to learn how to print paychecks: Print paychecks in QuickBooks Online Payroll and Intuit Online Payroll.

You can always add any details if you need further assistance with payroll processes. I'm always here to lend a helping hand.

Hi Giovann_G,

What was the subject on the e-mail reminder about the bank holiday? I get other e-mails from Intuit about Payroll but did not see this one. Also, where in the product was the in product messaging notification about processing deadlines due to the holiday? I want to ensure we see these notifications in the future.

Thank you
