Question

Our payroll is pulling from a "Business Checking" account that is not a real account. When I click on the paycheck, the "Paid from" field shows "Business Checking."

Our payroll is pulling from a "Business Checking" account that is not a real account. When I click on the paycheck, the "Paid from" field shows "Business Checking." We have tried going to banking and making the Bank Account inactive but it will still come back next pay period after a payroll runs. We do have our correct checking account set up and it is linked correctly. I have called Intuit about 7 different times about this issue and they cannot fix it. Once, a rep said this is a known issue caused by us first signing up for payroll and then adding quickbooks and the integration didnt occur properly. They said they would create a ticket for the research team but I never heard back. Can someone please help? Thank you.

Let's make sure your payroll is pulling from the correct account, cward1.

 

Sometimes, we forgot to check if the payroll account is set up correctly since we think it was. Let's check and validate if it was indeed correctly set up or change the bank account if it's not. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear ⚙ icon, then Payroll settings.
  2. In the section titled Accounting at the bottom of the page, select Edit ✎.
  3. In the section titled Paycheck and payroll tax payments select Edit ✎. From the Bank account ▼ dropdown, select the account you set up in "Step 2: Set up your bank account in your chart of accounts."
  4. Select Continue, then Done and Done.

 

However, if it's still pulling up from an incorrect account, I suggest reaching out again to our phone support team to investigate this further. They have the necessary tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and double-check what's causing this issue. This is also a great way so they can include you as one of the affected users and we'll be notified once the issue is fixed. Moreover. here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter your concern.
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

I do not have an Accounting section showing up in the payroll settings.

When I've spoken with an Intuit Service Reps they were either unsure of why I didnt have this access and or said that it had to do with starting with Intuit Payroll and then adding Quickbooks (and it didn't integrate correctly).

Do you know how I can gain access to the Edit Accounting section?

I attached a screenshot.

Good morning.  I am having the same issue and have been unsuccessful reaching out to Quickbooks.  I was curious if you were able to resolve this problem and how?  Thank you so much for your time.

You'll want to follow the steps provided by my colleague, MariaSoledadG to verify if the payroll account is set up correctly. If you've already selected the correct account, I'd still recommend getting in touch with our technical support. This way, we'll be able to look into your account in a secure session and then conduct an investigation. Here's how to connect with us:

 

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Select Talk to a human.
  3. Enter "Talk to a human" again in the search bar.
  4. Choose I still need a human, then click Contact us.
  5. Select Get a callback or Send a message to start a conversation.
