Past employee changed their address and did not get their 1099 - asked for another copy

One of my past part-time employees (college student) moved to a different dorm and did not get their 2022 1099. They called me with a new address and asked if I can re-send the 1099. Is that something that can easily be done in QB Online/Payroll? Or is the onus on the employee to contact the IRS for a copy? Thank you.

I'm here to ensure your employee receives their 1099, @Erdna.

 

You can resend the 1099 form by creating and filing a new one in QuickBooks Online. You will first need to get in touch with the IRS and manually amend the 1099 forms. See the IRS instructions to do so.

 

Once the address is fixed, you can provide the corrected return to your employee yourself.
