Pay Contractors by the Hour with Payroll

I want the ability to pay contractors with Payroll, the same as an Employee can be paid; where the data from QBs Time is auto-populated in the entries with the contractor’s cost information. “For contractors, it is different. It needs to be entered manually in the section since its not the same as employees where they are being paid on an hourly basis. It the same set up in Quickbooks, but for Contractors, you just need to enter the amount and pay it directly.” I would like to change this so that paying Contractors by the hour with Payroll is easier and more in sync with Tsheets aka Quickbooks Time.

    The option to pay contractors by payroll hour requires you to do it manually. Though QBO is constantly changing based largely on the suggestions and requests of users like yourself.     Can I request beta access to be able to pay contracts in the same way that employees are linked to QBs Time?

      Hello there, @nile2. Yes, you can.

       

      Adding and inviting  contractors the same way how employees are being added to QuickBooks Time is available. Here's how:

       

      1. Go to My Team.
      2. Select +Add.
      3. Enter their information, and select a role. (Note: Role options here are Administrator, Worker, and Payroll Manager.)
      4. Select Invite.
      5. Select the contractor.
      6. Under Email / Text, select to send an email invitation, or to send a text message invitation. ...
      7. Select Send [#] Invites.

      where do you enter emeployee hours workrd for payroll

      I'll help you enter employee hours worked for payroll. 

       

      In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can enter the total number of hours worked by your employees for the week through the Weekly Timesheets.

       

      Here's how: 

       

      1. Go to +New.

      2. Select Weekly Timesheet under Employees. 

      3. Then, enter the total number of hours worked. 

      4. Once done, click Save and Close. 

       

      On the other hand, you can enter it directly when creating paychecks in QBO. I'll show you how:

       

      1. Go to the  Payroll menu, then select Employees.
      2. Click Run Payroll.
      3. Select your desired payroll schedule, then Continue.
      4. Review the QuickBooks Bank account to track your payroll, the Pay period, and the Pay date.
      5. Select the employees you'd like to pay.
      6. Enter hours, compensation, memos, or any other necessary paycheck info.
      7. Click Preview payroll.
      8. Select Preview payroll details or Submit payroll.
      9. Once done, click Finish Payroll.

       

      However, If you use QuickBooks Time select Review Approved Time.
