Question

Payday/Pay Period Calendar for Semi-Monthly Payroll (QB Online)?

Greetings!

I have used QBDT since its inception. I started running my business using Quicken DOS (1993'ish), evolved to Quicken Windows, then used the QuickPay module for Quicken Windows and then many versions of QBDT.  So needless to say I know QB pretty well and yes, I am old!

I just started working for a company who uses QB Online, which is my first exposure to this evolution.  We also use QB Payroll and when I look at the drop-down for pay periods, it only displays 3-4 payrolls in advance.  I wish to provide our employees a schedule of specifically what day they will receive their (everyone is direct deposit) paychecks, but some months it's the 15th and other months the 16th.  Then if the 15th falls on a weekend but the 16th doesn't...yadda, yadda.  Pretty annoying that there's no simple means where I can produce (or even view) a pay period calendar, so we can properly inform our employees for a full 12 month period!

I've seen on this 'Community Help' where QBDT can supposedly produce a payroll/payday calendar but I cannot find such a calendar, for a semi-monthly (24 pay period/year) payroll schedule, using QB Online.

Would someone please make available the 2023 and (hopefully!) 2024 QBDT Calendar, maybe on this Community site, for us QB Online users so we can properly inform our employees?

We appreciate your time!

Good evening, @AcadiaShutters

It's great to see a new face here in the Community!

I can see how beneficial this could be for your business. However, I recommend submitting feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider this in the near future.

As a future reference, check out this guide about running payroll reports

I hope this answers your question. I'm only a comment away if you need me. Have a wonderful day!

Greetings Candice C and thank you for your kind reply!

I have been working with QB Online now for several months and have not been able to locate a 'payday calendar' anywhere, including reports. If you are aware of a specific report that I have maybe missed and would provide this information, please advise how I could produce such a report!

I have also used the 'Feedback' but have little hope for change as I've read that this has been a concern/desire of many users for several years.  Available to QBDT users but not for QB Online, I don't get that!

Thank you again!

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the availability of a 'payday calendar' feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO), AcadiaShutters.

I understand that this is an important tool for you. For now, QuickBooks Online does not have a built-in payday calendar feature like QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) does. While I cannot guarantee any specific changes or timelines, I still encourage you sending your feedback to express your desire for the payday calendar feature.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Enter your suggestion. Then, click Next.

To keep track of your payroll and payday schedules in QuickBooks Online, you may need to rely on alternative methods, such as using external calendar tools.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with any other aspects of QuickBooks Online, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your satisfaction is important to us, and I'm here to support you in any way I can.

I have this same request for QB Desktop!
