payroll

Due to new regulations, our employee's hourly wage could be different depending on what project they are working on that day.  What is the easiest/best way to do the payroll for them without creating 2 separate checks and changing their hourly rate twice a paycheck?  Is there a way for me to figure total gross pay manually and just enter the amount, and have QB calculate net pay?

Glad to see you here in the Community, @dee5916. I’m here to walk you through the steps on how to easily do payroll for your employees in QuickBooks Online.

You have the option to manually enter the amount and let the system calculate the net pay when creating paychecks.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Employees menu and proceed to the Employees tab.
  2. Select the employee you want to check.
  3. Select the edit (pencil) icon beside the Net pay amount.
  4. Make the desired modifications. Then select OK.
  5. Click Submit payroll.
