Payroll - accidentally scheduled quarterly taxes but need to run more payroll for this quarter

What the title says. I got an error message that stated:

"You cannot create a check for *** *** on 05/15/2024 because you have already made xxtax payments for the quarter. Please enter a check date in the next quarter."

I tried contacting chat but it keeps me in limbo. After I wait in the chat for 10+ minutes with no status update, suddenly my messages are "not sent" when I click on send.

To avoid the error message and process this quarter's payroll successfully.  You need to delete the scheduled quarter created by locating the exact date of the tax payment in the Tax history.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Select Taxes, then Payroll Tax.
  2. Select Payment History.
  3. Locate the date of the tax payment by changing the Date range.
  4. From the Edit dropdown, select Delete.
  5. Select Yes to confirm.

 

If you've paid the tax payment electronically and the delete button is unavailable. I recommend contacting our Online Payroll Support to help you check the status and provide you with additional information to fix them.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help and select Contact Us.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then click Continue.
  5. Select to chat with us or have us call you.
