Payroll by state reports in QBO

We went fully remote early in 2023 and had employees in 13-15 different states over the year.  Need to provide payroll by state report to CPA and was told by QBO support when I called that there is no way to do it.  That seems ridiculous to me.  It's not like it's a really unique request.  The guy said I could run individual reports by work location (each employee home address was their "work location").  That is just not an acceptable answer.

Anyone have any ideas?

I understand the importance of state-specific payroll reports, @lbisesi.

Currently, QuickBooks Online Payroll doesn't offer this feature. However, you can generate separate reports like Payroll Summary by Employee and Employee Details to obtain the necessary information.

To do this, navigate to the Reports menu, select Reports, and locate the mentioned reports. You can customize and export them to Excel for your accountant's needs.

Adding state-specific payroll reports to QuickBooks is a valuable suggestion for improvement. You can send feedback to our developers so they can review it and enhance your user experience.

Additionally, there are other payroll reports available in QuickBooks that can provide relevant data for your business and employees.

Please feel free to reach out if you have further questions about generating state payroll reports in QuickBooks. I'm here to assist you.
