When I print the "payroll details report" print to a PDF I see the grand totals of the report at the top of the page.

When I download this report to excel there is no grand totals.

Hello there, LDO. I'll be happy to share information about how QuickBooks export reports.

When generating a Payroll Detail report in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), it's true that there are totals at the top of each column within the report and when printed. However, upon exporting the report to Excel, the file may display differently due to the interpretation and display of data within Excel, and the formatting and layout may be subject to Excel's default settings.

To maintain the desired format, you can customize the Excel file to align with your expectations when running and printing the Payroll Detail report in QBOP. Adding a row at the top and inputting the totals will enable you to display the total at the top of the page.

In addition, please know that there are some of your reports that'll look different depending on whether they're in the classic view or new enhanced experience. To know more about exporting your reports, check out this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, there's a helpful article available that provides guidance on memorizing your report's current customization to save time: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online

If you need further assistance with exporting reports, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help you, LDO.
