Payroll Direct Deposit shows processed for some employees, but scheduled for others

Hello,

We are just switching over to QB payroll, and our first DD payroll is scheduled for tomorrow (Feb 1). I submitted the payroll last Friday, and we have the 1-day processing time, so it’s been showing as scheduled on the paycheck list since last Friday.

I know the cutoff is 5 pm PST (8 pm EST), so I’ve been checking after 8 to see if the status has been updated. I checked at 9:30, and there were 2 employees still showing scheduled, but everyone else is showing as processed. I was thinking there may be a lag time between employees, but as of 10:10 pm, it’s still showing those two employees as scheduled. Does anyone know if that is normal?

I can see the importance of knowing the exact time frame of when will the money be deposited, hsalyer01.

The direct deposit lead time determines when to submit or approve payroll. Also, holidays affect your send times. For more details, see this article: How do federal holidays affect my direct deposit?

Additionally, the funding time influences when your employees are paid. See the following for more information:

  • Same-day: Workers are paid the same day you send your payroll to us. This is only available in QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium or Elite.
  • Next-day: Workers are paid the next banking day after you send your payroll to us.
  • 2-day: Workers are paid two banking days after you send your payroll to us.
  • 5-day: Workers are paid five banking days after you send your payroll to us.

I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team to determine why your other 2 employees still showing scheduled in the status. They have secure access to your account and tools to check your payroll status. Let me walk you through the steps to contact them:

  1. Navigate to the Help icon in the upper right to display the support window.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab and enter a brief description of your concern in the Type something field.
  3. Click the Get help from a human link and type a phrase or keyword in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Press the Continue button to view the support options.
  5. Select Chat to start a conversation and Callback to speak with an agent.
