Payroll history error

I am trying to use Quickbooks Online to set up payroll for my small business. I have entered in all of the information, but the last step says "Finish payroll history". I have entered in the payroll and tax information for the last three quarters and everything works until I get to "Paycheck history quarterly detail". I have tried to enter the information every way possible, but the site keeps saying that the amount I enter doesn't match the total YTD that Quickbooks calculated. What is going on here? How do I actually pay my employees??

QuickBooks Online Payroll has procedures to enter employees’ year-to-date paycheck info and company totals. You’ll want to review your setup to ensure everything’s correct and no missing information. By this, QuickBooks calculates the amounts accurately.


You can make changes to your pay history if you haven’t created any paychecks. Go to the Payroll menu and select Overview to get back to the setup and pay history tasks. See this guide to learn more: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.


If all details are correct, you can perform some troubleshooting steps to sort this out. First, open your QuickBooks account in a private or incognito window for testing. You can use these shortcuts keys below for quick navigation:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P


Once logged in, go to your Payroll page and check the amounts. If the site no longer says that the amount you entered doesn’t match the total YTD that QuickBooks calculated, get back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Doing this helps the program to run better. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.
