So I have a problem with IRS since the name of my company does not match with the name IRS has because I made a mistake and I need to make that change first. But my question is, If I just run payroll and made the first paycheck for my only employee, If I void that check, Do I still need to pay the taxes I supposed needed to pay for that check? Or the taxes get deleted as well? I hope somebody can help me, this is so confusing.

When you void a paycheck, you won't be paying the taxes for that paycheck in QuickBooks Online Payroll, NetlinkS. Let me discuss this further below.

When you void a paycheck in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, the entire transaction is essentially reversed, setting the paycheck's dollar amount to zero. This action ensures that the employee will not receive the payment, and all associated financial transactions related to that paycheck are canceled. Consequently, any deductions that were part of the original paycheck, including taxes, will not be processed. This means that payroll taxes, such as federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security tax, and Medicare tax, will not be withheld or paid for that specific paycheck.

Additionally, other deductions like health insurance premiums, retirement contributions, or garnishments will also be canceled. By voiding a paycheck, QBO adjusts the payroll liabilities, accordingly, ensuring that your financial records accurately reflect the changes. This process helps maintain compliance with tax regulations and ensures that your payroll accounting is accurate and up to date.

Also, you can run a payroll summary report for a comprehensive overview of your company's payroll activities, including employee wages, taxes withheld, deductions, and contributions, which helps in financial planning, budgeting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
