Payroll links broken from Dashboard
Third month of using QB Online after migrating from ten years of stable QB Desktop installs, for a small church, with 3-6 employees.. I hate it so far and we'll have gone from paying exactly $24.95/year (for a third-party W2 service) to over $1800/year. I previously ran payroll manually and had access to a QB Desktop install for other work I do for a business.
I am subscribed to Quickbooks Plus and Quickbooks Online Payroll Core. On the Dashboard, under the Employees section, if I click on Enter time, a screen comes up that says "We're sorry, we can't find the page you requested". And, if I click on the Payroll link from the Dashboard screen, I get "Page not found! Go back to qbo.intuit.com". I have found a way to enter time for our lone hourly employee somewhere and I can get to the overall Payroll screen from the menu on the left.
On a related note to broken links, when I signed up at the end of last year, I did NOT want Intuit filing tax forms. There are a number of nuances with churches and taxes that most companies do not get right, so I chatted with support to confirm that Intuit would not touch tax filings and withholding submissions. I was told that since I had not authorized Intuit, they would not do any such thing. Lo and behold, I found they went ahead and filed a PA 1667 (the end of year W2 reconciliation for Pennsylvania), with zero W2s. And last week, I got a notice in the mail from PA Unemployment Compensation that they were notified that we were paying wages and a UC account had been setup. Churches are exempt from FUTA/SUTA, so when I contacted PA UC, I was told a third party had notified them of an intent to file forms. I also received an email from Intuit that they had contacted the state to determine our UC rate and had changed our QB payroll UC rate (I had previously set it to zero/exempt). In the email from Intuit is a link to contact them if I felt the rate is incorrect but when I attempted to use, that, it initially redirected and said support.qbo.intuit.com could not be found. Now, the link just redirects to a spinning dots on my company file screen.
Does anyone else run into broken links with their QB online instance? Did something get botched from the migration? I migrated directly from QB Desktop 2022 at the end of 2022 - finished up payroll and filed end-of-year based on data from the desktop install and started 2023 in QB Online.
