Hello there, bill141.

Let me help fix this issue with the missing run payroll option so you'll be able to run payroll successfully.

The accumulated cache in the browser could be the reason why the Run payroll option is missing. To isolate the issue, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps.

Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks account in a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't save web searches and cookies. Feel free to uses these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once you're in, try processing your payroll again. If it's now working well, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to delete the accumulated junk files. Switching to other supported browsers can also help fix this issue.

In addition, here's an article that you can read to help track where your business stands in terms of payroll and employee expenses: Run payroll reports.

You can check the following article for some links about the payroll tasks in QuickBooks Online: Payroll Resource Hub

Thank you.  I started over from Firefox instead of Safari and everything was fine.
