Payroll question, need specific steps to allow us to change gen ledger accts for what use to be employer portion FICA exp PLUS employee portion benefit deductions?

I can definitely walk you through the steps in updating your payroll accounts, bdenney-servicem.

 

The change in your settings will affect future payroll transactions. If you want, you have the option to backdate existing ones as well. Just that we'll change all accounts except the one in the Bank Account section. 

 

Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. At the upper-right, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Payroll settings.
  4. Click the pencil icon on the accounts you want to update. 
  5. Select the new account and click Continue.
  6. At the bottom, you select the Want to update existing transactions option and change previous transactions.
  7. Enter the date and then click Update and Continue.
  8. Click Done to save the changes. 

You log out and log back in to refresh the system and check if changes were saved successfully. You can also run payroll reports to verify if existing transactions were also updated.
