Payroll report

Good day, @Lampin.

For now the option to generate a report that shows a number of employees per month over a 12 month range is unavailable in the program.

The system will only show the list of employees that you've entered inside QuickBooks. I can see how this option would be helpful for you and your business. Thus, I'll take note of this as a suggestion to improve your experience in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). 

As a workaround, you can run the New Hire List report and export it to Excel. That way, you can manually count how many employees you had for that month. Here's how:

1. Go to Reports menu and select Employees & Payroll. 
2. Choose New Hire List.
3. Filter the dates of the report according to the data that you need. 
4. Click the Excel drop-down list and choose Create New Worksheet.
5. Select Export.
6. From the Excel window, manually calculate the number of employees you've had for that month.

Moreover, you can customize any report that you generate in the program. That way, you can easily review the data that matter the most to your business. 

You can also memorize them in QuickBooks if you want the same customized settings to be available for future use.
