When I attempt to update my UI rate for 1/1/2024 it says the value provided by the state is invalid.  I was provided 0.10% for 2024 and when I enter the value the site says the value must be between 0.13% and 6.23%.  Is the only support this forum?

Welcome to the Community space, @as_1111.

To better assist you with your concern, may I ask which state provided you with the UI rate of 0.10% for 2024? This information will help us verify the validity of the rate and provide you with the appropriate solution. Any additional information you can provide will help me provide you with the most accurate assistance.

Hello there, @as_1111.

I am here to share some insights about updating the UI rate in Quick Books Online.

Currently, due to limitations within QuickBooks, updating the UI rate for January 2024 is unavailable. This is because QuickBooks is designed to use the UI rate applicable for the current year. Therefore, if you want to update your UI rate for January 2024, you will need to wait until next year to update it.

Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference on how to manage workers' comp automatically with Pay As You Go: Understand workers’ compensation insurance.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about UI rate in QuickBooks Online. I'll be here to lend a helping hand.

Hello there, @affapodiatry.

I'll help you find a way to update your unemployment insurance rate in QuickBooks Online.

Since you're still unable to update the rate even after January 1, 2024, you can send your notification to us.

If you are currently using QuickBooks Payroll service, you can upload your notice to your Payroll product.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes then select Payroll tax.
  2. Select Resources
  3. Select Tax Notice.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to send your notice to us.

You can then check the status of your notices inside your QuickBooks. Follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ then under Tools select Resolution center.
  2. Select the Payroll tab.
  3. Find your tax notice. Select View details.
  4. Review the info about your notice.

You can also send you notice to us via email. Add the notice to your email as an attachment. Acceptable formats include .pdf, .jpeg, .doc or .docx, .xls or .xlsx, .tiff. You can send it to taxnoticeresolution@intuit.com.

Upon receipt of the tax notice, we will send an email confirmation to the Principal Officer and Primary Admin on file, including a case number and additional details. Subsequently, a tax specialist will send another email containing the necessary resolution, any steps taken on your behalf, and any additional action required from you (if applicable). Please note that the response will only be sent to the Primary Officer or Primary Admin of the account.

Here is an article you can read about sending in your notice to us: Send in your payroll tax notice. It also includes frequently asked questions.

For future reference, I'm adding this article as your year-end guide in QuickBooks: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.
