Payroll setup

Inputting your year-to-date (YTD) payroll in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is my priority, @MB2468. That's why I'm here to work with you on the actions you need to take care of this matter.

When the QBO screen goes blank after attempting to take you to the screen where you can input your employees' YTD payroll details, this can sometimes be due to the browser's overtime collection of data from frequent page visits. To isolate this matter, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

• Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
• Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
• Control + Option + P (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the Payroll menu and enter your YTD payroll data (or prior payroll). Please check out this article for the step-by-step guide: Set up a prior payroll for QuickBooks Online Payroll. It also includes answers to the most frequently asked questions about the said topic.

If you're routed to the input screen and performed the process accordingly, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performances issue. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

When you're done, I'd recommend pulling up payroll reports (i.e., Payroll Details or Employee Details). This is to make sure that you've inputted your YTD payroll data accordingly. Then, you can customize them to focus on the details that matter the most and opt to memorize them to save their customization settings.
