Different filing and payment methods are depending on your state tax. You can file forms electronically to ensure you stay compliant with the state agency. Check this article to see which method you need to use: E-file and e-pay state forms and taxes in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.

 

If you can e-file your payroll tax forms in QuickBooks, you'll need to set this up. Here's how:

 

  1. Select Employees, and choose Payroll Center.
  2. From the File Forms tab, select Manage Filing Methods.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Select the state form you want to e-file, and then select Edit
  5. Select e-file, then select Finish
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 for each state form. 
  7. When you’re done, select Continue, then Finish
