Prepare payroll

When I log in to Prepare payroll I get a message in an orange box !We can't get tax code updated because your Government Gateway Uder ID and /or password are wrong or outdated.  Update your details'.  When I click on update your details it logs me out of the system.  I have checked with HMRC and our details are correct.  Is anyone else experiencing this issue?  Is it a system issue with QB online?

    Thanks for taking the time to reach out here in the Community. I want to make sure you're able to prepare your payroll in QuickBooks Online.

     

    It sounds like you're doing everything correctly but I'd like to show you a different route to update the HMRC details. Here's how:

    1. Select the Payroll menu and go to the Payroll Settings tab.
    2. Choose HMRC Settings, then scroll down to RTI settings.
    3. Update the HMRC user id and HMRC password
    4. Click Save.

    Additionally, you may also want to clear the browser cache to remove anything that's blocking communication within the system.
