PTO/ETO Calculations

Our employess accrue Earned Time Off based on their years of employment:

0 - 5 years 6.25 hrs earned/pay period

5 - 10 years 7.75 hrs earned/per period

10+ years 9.75 hrs earned/pay period

ETO is earned per pay period and not per hour, additional ETO is not accruable for overtime hours worked.

ETO is counted as time worked when computing overtime.

Is it possible in QBs to count ETO hours used as time worked when figuring OT hours?

Thank you.

Not really, because QB doesn't calculate/figure OT hours.

You can pay OT even when also paying time off if you elect to, just as you do when paying for regular time.

Hi saiping,

In QuickBooks PTO is labeled as Vacation/Sick Pay. To see the set sick and vacation time, you can go to Edit, Preferences, Payroll & Employees, and then Company Preferences. Then click Sick and Vacation.

To see the sick and vacation accruals on your employee's profile, you'll want to click the Payroll Info tab, and then Sick/Vacation.

Please refer to this article for more information: Sick Pay Maximums.

You can always swing by anytime if you need anything else.
