QB Desktop Payroll State Unemployment Update

I'm in Alaska and just noticed after running our first payroll for 2023 that the newest payroll update for QB Desktop Enterprise has not updated the State of AK unemployment contribution rates for the Employees. Since QB has taken away our ability to manually update this figure, we are forced to wait for an update on this. Anyone else notice this for your first of the year 2023 payrolls? Maybe Alaska isn't the only state that has been left out?

I'm trying to do payroll right now myself, for the first time. I am having this issue as well. There are seemingly no changes to the Alaska tax table in Quickbooks, but there are changes to the employee portion and wage base. So my payroll will not take the correct amount out for the employee portion as of this time. I had another employer call and point out the same thing. Quickbooks - can you help please??

Thanks for sharing your concerns about the State Unemployment Update in QBDT, willetteak

At the moment, we haven't received any updates for the SUI. We recommend waiting for the next tax table release. Rest assured we will inform you here when it's available.

For future reference, check out this article to learn more about updating your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate in QuickBooks Online Payroll or QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

Ok so, we are just supposed to wait and see if it's part of the next payroll subscription release?? Which will be when, exactly? I'm sorry but this is extremely frustrating and just adds to the end of year stress. Clients pay a LOT of money for this payroll subscription and the expectation is that it will be updated timely and appropriately - otherwise, why buy the subscription service at all? The State of Alaska had their Unemployment contribution rates updated at least as early as the beginning of December, maybe even prior to that - as as always been the case in every year I've been doing this line of work for over 20 years. This is plenty of time for QB to have updated their payroll subscription with the rates. Seems like QB forgot about Alaska this time, and this issue needs to be elevated. How do we do that?

It is not the impression we want you to feel, @willetteak.

I understand the importance of the SUI update of your business. Currently, we haven't received any updates yet. You can visit our payroll update page to check it anytime. Here's the link: Get the latest payroll news and updates in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

I am frustrated about this issue as well!  I'm getting ready to process payroll today. What do we need to do once it's been updated, after our payroll is processed?  Will QB automatically reduce the payroll deductions on the next paycheck to even it all out? Or will we need to do a revision on our end?  I'm very confused as I have never had to deal with this before.

Also, I am ready to run my quarterly and annual reports but am afraid to do so until the update for Alaska has been released. Any thoughts?

I have heard PA and NV are as well because they are the states that have an employee rate.  On with QB for the fourth time trying to figure this out and escalate it.  This happened last year as well.
