Question

QB Online has asked for a verification code three times today. I'm on the same laptop and wifi, just timed out. How do I set this device as secure and stop these codes?

It's good to see you here in the Community, @westwinery.

I'll share information on why you're asked to verify your account upon logging in to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

One of the reasons you need to verify your account every time you log in is that the Two-Step Authentication option has been enabled. This is an additional layer that strengthens the security of your QBO account. If you want to stop this feature, you can turn it off by following these easy steps:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Click Sign In & Security from the left menu and go to the Two-step verification section. Then, select Turn off.
  3. Enter the code and click Continue.

In addition, this may still trigger when you use a new device, a new browser, after clearing the cache and cookies, or if you'll be using a private window.

You can check out this article to learn more about this feature: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

Feel free to come back to this post and let me know how it goes, @westwinery. I want to make sure you're taken care of.

You may want to update your business information in QBO. You can read this article for more guidance: Change your business name, contact info, or EIN in QuickBooks Online.

Wishing you all the best!
