QB Payroll filing reports too early
Each quarter, my business is required to file the Oregon Quarterly Tax Report and then pay the associated taxes. For some reason, Quickbooks filed this report on April 8th but didn't pay until April 30th when the tax was due. This triggered a letter from the Oregon Department of Revenue to state that my taxes were overdue, and I was assessed a penalty.
I spoke to someone from the Department of Revenue who admitted that the report should have not been issued, but they know it will happen every quarter if Quickbooks continues to file so early without paying.
How do I get Quickbooks to change the date they're filing? There's no reason for them to file so early.
I called support today, and as usual I was pulling my hair out by the time I hung up. QB reps have no idea what's going on, place you on hold for so long only to come back and repeat what they think you said (and get it wrong), then put you on hold again. This rep asked me to provide the letter from the Department of Revenue.
I get it. Documentation is a good thing. However, I know from experience that I will go through these hoops only to have my issue not resolved again. Last time I submitted documents the "expert" at QB told me the government was wrong and they would not change the way they were doing things.
I'm just at a loss as how to actually have issues resolved. My last issue was also with how QB is calculating taxes wrong and now I have to file an amendment each quarter. Can I just request that reports are not filed until a payment is made? Or can I file the reports myself since QB can't manage to do it right?
